BRINGING AWARENESS
Bee Conscious was born out of concern for the plight of the honey bees and the steady decline in their population. As we know, bees and other pollinating insects play an essential role in our ecosystem. Honey bees pollinate an estimated one third of all crops we consume and the world without them would be devastating for food production. When I co-funded Bee Conscious with the invaluable help of Charmaine Wasif, we had one main goal in mind: to raise awareness of the plight of bees. Bee Conscious has been supported by, amongst many, Queen drummer and rock legend, Roger Taylor and his wife, the beautiful actress Sarina Taylor, London Beekeepers' Association, Friends Of The Earth and Omnibus Theatre. Bee Conscious held its own festival on Clapham Common with the incredible support of local businesses, and also has taken part in other galas and fetes such as the Lambeth Country Show, Brixton Come Together and Clapham Old Town Fayre, with a great reception and tremendous support from the general public.
